One-way Multicast Service

One-way with a Terrestrial Return
The one-way terrestrial return uses a common dial-up to access the Internet with the help of a modem. With this type of high speed satellite Internet connection, the user can both upload and download data. Downloading is available through satellite at great speeds, while uploading is done through some terrestrial ISP.
Two-way Satellite Internet
Service
For the two-way satellite Internet service to work, the satellites of companies involved in the transmission of data must be positioned perfectly for an uninterrupted connection. Both upload and download of data are available through satellite in this type of service. To use this facility, the user must have both an uplink modem and a downlink modem installed.
How it works?
The satellite broadband technology functions with the help of a satellite dish through which the Internet connection is set up. A command is sent from the users’ end to a satellite in the orbit which is many thousand miles away. From there, the signal travels directly to the satellite provider and is routed to the internet. After the data is exchanged, it travels back to the satellite and when the data is received at this point, the information reaches the user’s machine.
To use the satellite Internet service, subscriber needs hardware which includes a satellite dish antenna and a transceiver (transmitter/receiver) that operates in the microwave portion of the radio spectrum. The data is decoded and encoded through the transmitter and the receiver. Due to the satellite dish, it has been made possible to make the Internet connection available anywhere in the satellite’s footprint.
